Summer is one of the peak travel seasons, when people hit the roads to see their relatives and friends, besides an increase in shopping and road freight deliveries in preparation for the holidays. The following are some of the basic points to check prior to embarking on your journey:
| Tyres: The tyres of your car should be checked for preventing blowouts or splits during your journey that may lead to the loss of control or, worse an accident |

| Fluid Levels: Check that necessary fluid levels-brake fluid, coolant, windshield washer fluid, among others-are above the levels that could create system failures. |  |
| Windshield and Wipers: Check your windshield for any cracks and get them repaired, if necessary. Check your wipers to see if they work and that the washer fluid is full, as variable Australian weather conditions impede visibility. |

Lights: Make sure all lights-headlights, taillights, and interior lights-are functioning correctly. The better your visibility, the safer you are on the road. |

Mirrors: Position your mirrors for clear views around the car and clean them to provide less blind spots on the road. |

| Brakes: Check that all the air brakes, hydraulic systems, and disc or drum brakes are in good condition and functioning properly. Good brakes are critical in preventing collision |  |
| Trailer Coupling: In case the vehicle is towing a trailer, check that the trailer is properly coupled and that all parts are in their correct place. |  |
